The Heart Of Our Care
About the Founder
Care Built From Experience
I'm Kahealani Kamakaiwi, founder of A Tune of Their Own, a mother of four and a Registered Behavior Technician with a professional background that also includes emergency medical services, 911 dispatch, leadership, production, and event coordination.
Both professionally and personally, I've spent much of my life caring for people, solving problems, creating structure, and learning how differently each person experiences the world.
Raising four children reinforced something my work with children continues to teach me: there is no single right way to grow, learn, communicate, or experience childhood. Children thrive when we understand who they are rather than expecting them to fit into one mold.
My behavioral-care experience brings an additional layer to that philosophy, with an emphasis on communication, sensory needs, independence, emotional development, and recognizing behavior as a form of communication.
I created A Tune of Their Own to combine those experiences into the kind of childcare I believe families deserve: safe, nurturing, developmentally intentional, inclusive, and deeply personal.
Because we're not here to determine a child's rhythm.
We're here to give them the space to discover it.
Their journey. Their rhythm. Their tune.
