My Story
My name is Kahealani, and the heart behind A Tune of Their Own was built through both personal journey and professional purpose. As a mother of four, including neurodivergent children, I have lived the reality of searching for spaces where children are not simply expected to fit a mold, but are truly understood for who they are. Those experiences shaped my belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow in an environment that honors their individuality, sensory needs, emotions, and natural way of learning.
My professional path as a Registered Behavioral Technician deepened that mission. Working closely with children with autism and diverse developmental needs gave me firsthand insight into how transformative the right environment can be. I saw the difference between systems focused on compliance and spaces that nurture confidence, curiosity, and authentic development. That difference became the foundation of my vision.
A Tune of Their Own is the evolution of that vision—a 24-hour childcare center designed for real families, real schedules, and real children. It is a place where compassion meets structure, where flexibility supports working parents, and where children are encouraged to thrive in their own rhythm rather than be forced into someone else’s. For me, this is more than a business. It is the life work born from motherhood, advocacy, and the dream of building a stronger, more inclusive community for the next generation.
